[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of several species of Leaf-beetles living on mints (Mentha sp.)
Most of them can fly, but they do not do so very often, and certainly not to escape danger. It is thought that their shiny colors and conspicuous appearance protects them by suggesting to potential predators that they are unpalatable or even toxic.
In any case, they certainly are gorgeous lttle bugs!
This one is rather large by Leaf-beetle standards, at 12 mm.

Hi Philippe. Glorious creature. And this is not even its evening wear! Wonderful details, colour, light.Marvel to look at. Regards. Klaudio.

Ciao Philippe,
davvero un bel primo piano di questa specie.
Non facile fotografarla evitando fastidiosi riflessi, ma tu ci sei riuscito magnificamente.
Complimenti per la nitidezza dei dettagli e della punteggiatura.
Marcello

Hi Philippe!
I am sorry but I am only marning now, I'll be back :)
Best greetings,
Radomir

Hi Philippe,
Chrysolina is surprisingly difficult to photograph what with all the reflections and the contrast. But you did a marvellous job, all is there, DOF, the many details, the beauatiful metallic shine. And you succeeded with an unusual angle. Well done!
Best regards
Dietrich

Hola Philippe.- Muy bellos los colores verde metalico de este bicho. Elegante y fina pose. Gran calidad en el Macro.
Saludos Luis52.

I like this kind of small coleoptera for their metallic rainbow shine. I often see them on various plant leafs. Nice shot.
