[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Even if now I am working with plants, the insects from Odonata order are between my favourites insects. I admire the way of flying, the fact that are quite difficult to catch and that are predators.
I don't thikn that it is necesary to whrite here more about this insects, there are many others who have written interesting things about them.
I suppouse that is a common darter (Sympetrum striolatum). I would say that, if species is not corect, however genus it is!
I took this picture in "Natuurreservaat Bourgoyen-Ossemeersen" near Gent.
Technical informations: focal lenght:300mm, cropped, sharpen, increase saturation and soft focus.
I am not expected to like you, but is my first attempt to shoot this insects, and olso, my first post with them. Maybe in the future.... |

Hi Oana!
Nice first try in fight with Odonata :-) Good colours and details on insect's wings. POV isn't bad also. Image could be sharper but I'm sure your next one will be better. Sympetrum for sure but I don't dare to identify specie.

Buna Oana,
Fotografia ta are o lumina buna. Ai reusit o redare naturala a acestore atat de pe insecta cat si de pe fundal. Desigur daca ar fi fost mai clara imaginea ar fi fost mai buna.
Toate cele bune,
Cristian

Hello Oana, Greetings from India. Nice try and the view you have chosen is showing only the wings. Probably you could have chosen a different POV next time. You are using 400D and it is capable of producing superb effect. From the data you have shot this in the night and probably the exposure has done the trick. Moreover it looks like you have taken this on a shaky note and thats why there is slight blur. The best mantra is keep shooting and keep keep shooting. Take care Ganesh
