I took these picture of the house sparrow in my garden

Source; Wekipedia
Generally, sparrows tend to be small, plump brown-grey birds with short tails and stubby, powerful beaks. The differences between sparrow species can be subtle. They are primarily seed-eaters, though they also consume small insects. A few species scavenge for food around cities and, like gulls or pigeons, will happily eat virtually anything in small quantities. Members of this family range in size from the Chestnut Sparrow (Passer eminibey), at 11.4 cm (4.5 inches) and 13.4 g., to the Parrot-billed Sparrow (Passer gongonensis), at 18 cm (7 inches) and 42 g. (1.5 oz). Sparrows are physically similar to other seed-eating birds.

I hope you enjoy.

Hi John,
A perfect portrait, the light is dramatic. The way in which the bird emerges from the bottom talk about an approach perfect. Great POV, excellent approach. This picture speaks for itself! Congratulations!

Hi John.
You have created a very nice and unusual picture of a common bird. First of all it is impressive 3D-effect. I almost see this charming bird just in my room on the table near the monitor. Lights and shadows are also wonderful and sharpness/derails of the sparrow head are ultimate. My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Dear John!

I believe it's agood idea to remember the plain beauty of that well known little fellow we almost see every day... and most of the time ignore! You present us a nice portrait of the Sparrow that I appreciate very much. He looks so cute in the sun...

Kind regards

Markus

Hi John,
well captured that show the beauty of the head. Very sharply focussed and also detailed. The head is so well ines with fine feathers and you showed it very wel.
The rest are gradually being blurred which give an impact on close up.
The light just hit the head part and it is realy amazing.

Regards,
Foozi

Hi John,
A House Sparrow in the areas of different light ...
Very nice framing and detail.Light has fallen, sparrows look very good.
Best wishes,

Hi John, I get great joy from seeing images of birds such as this photo, i do not really know why, perhaps the sublime beauty and elegance of such creatures. It is one of the main reasons behind my interest in photography. The clarity of the small face and amout of detail is both remarkable and interesting. TFS. Murray.
PS I notice we use similar equipment so it is inspiring to see what effects can be captured. If only i knew better how to do the most appropriate settings.

hello John

excellent close-up photo of this sparrow with his very
beautiful eye-contact, fine POV, fine focus sharpness
and details to his cute bird head, TFS

Hi John,

What You show on the photo are fantastic: great playing with lights / shadows, plenty of details, superb sharpness, fine eye contact, facial expression. What I'm not satisfied with are those You don't show on the photo: a little cropped legs and tail-feathers. A pity, because the shot should have been "bombastic" - but became only "good".
Have a great weekend, friendly regards, László

PS: thanks for visiting my TrekEarth-gallery, too. Unfortunately I don't have too much time for TE and TL, because TN is more important for me, but I try to be more active there, too, as my sparetime allows.

Hi John,

The close-up view is showing the details and colors of the house sparrow. It is clear and sharp. It is well framed. The luminosity is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hallo John,

mooie close up van deze mus.
Goede scherpte, pov en dof.
Prachtige kleuren.
Jammer dat je iets te dichtbij was of te ver hetb ingezoomd of gecropt hebt.
Mis een stukje staat en en poten.
