Orange tips (Anthocharis cardamines) in copula on a Cuckoo flower (Cardamine pratensis). Left is the male, characterized by an orange tip on its inner wing. You can slightly see some of the orange because of the backlight.
These butterflies are very active during warm spring days, but when it cools down in the evening or early morning they typically can be found perched on Cuckoo flowers. |

Excellent capture, with fine details and soft backlight. The female seems to bee quite shy... partially hidden behind the Cuckoo flower! It seems that the good season has begin for you. Cheers,
