What can I say? This is kind of winter, which I remember from my childhood. Temperature about -20C, all world covered by snow, but also sunny. Today I went to Zdrowie Park and Zoo - I hoped to take few pictures of nice winter for Trek Nature. And you know what? I did almost nothing! Everytime I unwore my gloves and took cam my hands turned into two pieces of frozen wood. In split second I couldn't make any precise move ;-) I don't remember such frost! So I hid Canon and enjoyed fantastic views which winter painted with ice crystals. Most people I met in my walk was rather surprised - man, I don't remember such weather! - they said. I returned, made hot tea and decided to post something more hot for TN. I chose seascape from our Bulgarians holidays. Fantastic time, fantastic temperature :-)

By the way - looks like this evening will be great for stars' observation. Sky is clear and cold weather helps to see more. I'm going to take my binoculars and spend few minutes enjoying all deep sky objects. Also, I'm going to buy a telescope - my another long time dream ;-) And you know what Joanna said? 'A telescope? For what? We need new gas-range in our kitchen, not telescope'. Tell me what do you think? Which thing is better for us? A telescope which let us see miracles of the Universe or stupid gas-range? ;-)))

Hi Greg. Very nice looking landscape. I really like the way you managed the light for this one.
About your dillema:
you maybe need A telescope which let you see miracles of the Universe and a stupid gas-range.

Wonderful lighting and beautiful composition - very well done

Hello Greg,

My answer to your question: "How much will you be able to use telescope which lets you see miracles of the universe, if you don't get a good and hot meal made by a loving (and happy) wife?"

I love this kind of photo filled with sea and land and sunshine.

Your composition is excellent, well detailed, and shows promise of things to come.

Great work, thankyou!

Greg,
I read your "By the way -..." aloud to my wife, daughter Jan, and my mother. You brought a smile and a chuckle to all of us...;-))) My mother said to tell you we are all pulling for you to get your telescope. But, my wife quickly interjected; "Now wait! If I were his wife I would want the stove." Ahhh, such is life! What is it the French say, "c'est la vie!"
Your picture is very beautiful! It warms the soul along with the contrasting story!
Thank you Greg!
Dave

Great composition and very pleasant arrangment for my personal taste.
Thanks for sharing, hope to have time to have a look of all I missed which looks superb in the thumbs :)
As always, my best wishes for you both.

A very appealing composition, and I enjoyed your story as well. For picture taking in cold weather, you might try cutting the ends of the fingers off a pair of gloves (enough to expose the first two finger joints) then stitch binding the edges and seams. This way you can still handle the camera without freezing your hands. Then a pair of loose mittens over top while not photographing will protect your exposed fingers too. :o)

A telescope would be nice, but a hot meal on a freezing cold night sounds much more essential to me. Survival first! heheh

Hi Greg,

Hi Greg, excellent landscape shot, find these even more difficult. Are you guys still managing, if so I would go for the telescope.. but some warmth could be handy. Good week Reina

I love the even distribution of sky and rock here in the photo. Great sea-scape and well composed! Very well done Greg!

Hi Greg

I hope this makes you feel warm. We hear that the cold is so severe in your part of the world. My sister-in-law is from Russia and she is contacting here parents every few days as she is very concerned for them

Nice shot. Lovely composition. Good light and POV. Good exposure and colours. Crisp, clear and sharp. Nice work. Thanks.

Pozdrawiam, Jurek
