Wild boar (Sus scrofa), also known as wild pig, is a species of the pig genus Sus, part of the biological family Suidae. The species includes many subspecies. It is the wild ancestor of the domestic pig, an animal with which it freely hybridises.Wild boar are native across much of Northern and Central Europe, the Mediterranean Region (including North Africa's Atlas Mountains) and much of Asia as far south as Indonesia. Populations have also been artificially introduced in some parts of the world, most notably the Americas and Australasia, principally for hunting. Elsewhere, populations have also become established after escapes of wild boar from captivity.

Hi Jiri,useful post about this specie.In Italy is now a big problem,there are wild pigs everywhere,and sometimes in the cities too.In my fields is possible to see the disaster the they done every night.I like your choice for the today post,and obviuosly the excellent quality.have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello Jiri,
An animal not often seen here on TN and you managed to capture it in it's natural habitat. I have never seen a wild boar myself, even though we have them in some areas of the US. Very good exposure and nice reflection.
Focus is sharp showing excellent detail and the colors are true and natural. You must have used a fairly fast shutter as the water seems to be frozen in mid stride. I like it!!

Hello Jiri,

Well captured this Wild Boar in its natural habitat. You were not lucky to get its clear eye due its pose. But details are very nice. Water movement due to its hind legs, is really very effective capture.
