[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture from my archives - my archives consist of a dusty box in the attic! This photograph was taken by myself in 1970 during a university expedition to East Greenland and was taken with my trusty old Edixa Prismat on Kodachrome 64 slide film.

These flowers are seen growing in the temporarily-fertile alluvial deposits in Nordost Bugt, a small bay which lies on the north side of Nordvest Fjord, the longest Fjord in the World, which runs in a north-westerly direction from Scoresby Sund into the heart of Greenland which, itself, is the largest island in the World.

You can see icebergs sitting in Nordvest Fjord in the background. Can anyone help me to identify these flowers? They really were a thing of beauty - it was amazing how much life seemed still to spring up in those areas which seemed otherwise so hostile.

I think this plant Epilobium fleischeri (Onagraceae)Fleischers Weidenröschen. But I'm not sure. TFS.

Beautiful! Something I missed during my short visit to Greenland. Very good photo!
