Blue Heron

In Copenhagen, the blue heron has become quite docile, to a degree where they can be hand fed.

Not many people are able to do this, however. On the picture is "The Heron Man", who is able to call the birds to him by whistling. The herons will follow him around the park for any length of time.

A view worth seeing!

Hello Dan

Oh yes, I have heard about this man and even read something about in a news paper a couple of years ago.

Very good capture with excellent sharpness/dof. Colours look great and natural. I like this scenario a lot. Well done and tfs.

Hi Dan,
unbeleavable, I never saw a heron so close to a man. That's a beautiful moment you could capture, thanks for sharing also the shot, not only the food with the bird ;-) Bye

What a wonderful shot of an unusual sight. It was delightful seeing this. Thank you for posting it.

Hei Dan,
Oh my dear, I love the pose of the bird! It is so obvious it knows what will happen, eagerly waiting for the goodies...
Well framed image, telling an interesting story of interaction between man and nature!

What a great shot Dan! Why can't I get images like this one? Perfect depth of field your positioning tells us where you are. The light is very even.

I consider this man endowed with some extraordinary gift to communicate with the birds so intimately. Not all of us have it, as you rightly observed.
I love the equation of understanding between the man and the bird. The bird is not even cautious; it is curious about the stuff inside the plastic bag. This man must be feeding the herons regularly.
Great job, Dan, and thanks for this great image.

Veramente ottima!
