Hello my dear Friends!
Today another Estonian picture, but this time a little more colourful ;>

Here we are in place which was for me the most beautiful area I have visited in Estonia - Endla Nature Reserve localized near town of Jogeva.
The photo was taken in part of reserve named Mannikjarve Bog.

The Endla Nature Reserve protects an area of some 2km x 1.4km. This is a typical bog area with main part of reserve - Mannikjarve Bog.
As you can see on the photo, there is a lot of "open water", these parts clearly suggest that long time ago this area was a lake. So this kind of bog is named a raised bog.

But let's start from the beginning... ;>

A bog? What is it?
It is a type of wetland which accumulates acidic peat, a deposit of dead plant material (usually mosses). Bogs occur where the water at the ground surface is acidic or where water is derived entirely from precipitation.

How many types of bogs are known?
Well, the main types are four:

-Raised bog - develops from a lake or flat marshy area, over either non-acidic or acidic substrates.

-Valley bog - develops in gently sloping valleys or hollows

-Quaking bog - is a form of bog occurring in wetter parts of valley bogs and raised bogs, and sometimes around the edges of acidic lakes where bog is beginning to form.

-Blanket bog - develops as a layer "blanketing" much of the land, including hilltops and slopes. This is a kind of bog which can be found in cool climates with consistently high rainfall.

And again this is my last photo for longer time, as I am leaving Lodz this Saturday for 2 weeks. I hope that after this time I would be able to show you a few pictures from a little warmer climat, as my target this time is: the Balkans! ;>

Thank you in advance for your time and comments and see you after 17 August!!! :>

Dear Radomir,
a surprisingly colourful, very beautiful landscape triggering deep feelings of desire - the way you present it with enormously great depth from an elevated point of view. I love the dark waters, the fragile trees.
With thanks, and all my best wishes,
Peter

I, for one, had never given bogs much thought!!. Thanks for the lesson!. I like the pattern of blue water and greens that you chose. I think that the exposure isn't as balanced as it could be. I do think there is probably enough detail in the OE clouds/sky that using an adjustment layer they could be retrieved. A graduated neutral density filter might have been used in the field or two separate exposures blended on the computer.

Thanks for sharing,,,, I hope the trip is wonderful!

Evelynn : )

Hi Radomir!

Every time when I see a landscape, I'm delighted because we are not many on TN posting that kind of pictures. Moreover, if the landscape is as beautiful as yours, I'm happy. A picture that generates emotions like your mosaic is worth a posting. This mosaic is beautiful, well presented and composed.

Now I wish you a fine holiday!

Kind regards

Markus

Hola amigo,
bello paisaje y espléndi poc y encuadre...
colores magníficos,
saludos Radomir

There is something very Shannon'esque about this one Radomir...It is the kind of style I like to use from time to time in my landscape photography. So..of course I would be attracted. I saw it when it went up and then left the room for a minute and came back in 2 hours:-) Very well done in a style which perhaps only you and I know!

Well chosen section of bogs, Radomir. The picture is very attractive, mainly owing to the colours and contrasts.

Preciosa Radomir.

Hi Radomir,
This is the type of landscape where my heart rate will go really fast. I really like those patches of water inbetween the grasses and trees. They have such a creative effect on a photo. Your high POV is excellent and gave a great view of the area. The blue sky is perfect for this photo and gave it a very fresh feel. Maybe a touch too much USM.
TFS,
Niek

Hej,
Niesamowite miejsce, piekna kolorostycznie mozaika wody i platow roslinnosci. Rzeczywiscie u nas ciezko byloby cos takiego zobaczyc. Szkoda tylko tych przepalonych chmur bo psuja efekt - mysle, ze nieodswieltlenie o 1 lub 1.5 przyslony a potem wyciagniecie przednich planow za pomoca poziomow daloby idealny efekt.
Serdecznosci,
Michal
