Lakeside deep in the wilderness of Kuusamo Finland.

Finland is a country of thousands of lakes and islands; 187,888 lakes and 179,584 islands to be precise. One of these lakes, Saimaa, is the 5th largest in Europe. The Finnish landscape is mostly flat with few hills and its highest point, the Haltitunturi at 1,328 metres (4,357 ft), is found in the extreme north of Lapland. Beside the many lakes the landscape is dominated by extensive boreal forests (about 68 percent of land area) and little arable land.

Lovely image - the sun is fantastic shining from behind the trees and casting these long and beautiful shadows. I also like the glitters in the snow. Good work with the metering against the sun

great composition and fantastic colours. I really like the way you have offset the sun behind the trees, it works well.

The sky is a little noisy, however. I think it woudl benefit from a noise reduction in the sky alone and then possibly a sharpen just to clarify the image a touch more - but I really like the overall impression.

A belated welcome to you at TN. I hope you will enjoy your stay and that we will still see many lovely photos from you, such as this one.
The composition is great and well proportioned. The sunset and the darkish scenery made for some wonderful rich colours. The DOF (depth of field) is excellent with amazing details visible. The exposure was perfectly managed. The only minor nit is the little noise in the sky therefore Emma's workshop did well to address this issue.

I really like this shot. The low sun angle lights up the snow providing great detail and sparking but delicate color. POV shooting into the sun was a great choice. TFS.

Beautiful shot! Finland has always appealed to me and this just reinforces that... Lovely image, composition and technique hiding the sun partially behind trees to avoid the dreaded flare. The colours are amazing, I would love to have been there!

Coming from the tropics where we have winter temperatures of plus 15 Celcius and the odd 11 I have always been amazed at the purity and cold to which you are all exposed.I like this shot portraying such pureness of the land, well framed with perfect exposure.
