The rural cricket, 2000 sorts of crickets in the world

Gryllus campestris

Order: orthoptère 15 000 cobare sorts

We hear more that we perceive the cricket. Common in them near and at the edge of roads hismonotonous song resounds throughout the spring. Brilliant black insect measuring from 2 to 2,5 cms, in the collected body, in the wide and rounded off head. These antennae are long and fine, serving for communicating with his congeners and for acquainting with the outside world.
The big compound eyes are him of a big utility because the cricket of fields is essentially diurnal. At night, he remains hidden in his den which he dug himself{*itself*}. His paws rear are powerful and adapted for the jump; it is a means of very practical locomotion because the cricket does not steal. Indeed wings slept in flats on the back are of use only to the song, the posterior wings are as vestiges or go away. Claws solident end paws. The song, that the male practical of May at the end of June, is realized by rubbing right wing on left wing. He varies according to his function

Very good one Philippe,
Good macro with a good capture, good colours, fine lines in it, good dof, good note. Well is is a good job.

Very detailed macro shot, Philippe, with impressive rendition of the cricket's anatomical features. Interesting posing by the insect, and the leaf not only provides a good color contrast, but also makes a nice graphical impact with the lines converging towards the right border.

Bien vu , intéressant le cadrage et les details avec de bonne couleurs .

A nice macro shot.
Very good composition and DoF.
An interesting note too, very well done.

Hello Philippe. I really love the green background the leaf has provided here and the placement of the cricket is very good too. I wish that it didn't appear that the leaf was placed upon a table and it appears to me that the focus is slightly behind his eyes and more on the middle of his body. Good shot.

Perfect macro shot Philippe, but not good in your garden, nice colours, good DOF and good details. Lovely!

Look out!! He's gonna get ya. Unless of course if you can slay him first, those look like they could replace frogs legs for your next meal. Seriously though a good capture here with a good look at this critter.
