Hello everybody !

Several members of TN have asked how I am doing, so I have decided to post a quick picture and give some news.As for the picture, it is a cute Red Squirrel (sciurus vulgaris), a picture I have taken some months ago, earlier in my pregnancy. We have a little forest behind our house, with a tiny river, and it's a great place to watch animals. We have roe deers, wild ducks, squirrels, and lots of small birds, it's very interesting.

As for me, I am OK, so please don't worry. But I am at the end of my pregnancy, now - the baby is awaited in 5 days, if the doctors are right - so I am big, clumsy and tired. I have momentarly given up on photography, because even if I saw lovely flowers or butterflies, I would be completely incapable of taking any picture of them. I will go back to it after the birth, if I find some time (I hope so).

I have also moved into another house, with lots of work to do, so that's why I didn't have any time to spend on TN. My Internet conection isn't that good either, some days I can get connected, others I can't, so it makes any regular participation almost impossible. I missed you all, my nature-loving friends from all over the world ! And I missed looking at all those pictures during those long weeks !

Now things are going a bit better. All the work in the house is done, and I have a bit more time to rest (I really need it). I hope I'll find time to come and visit TN again, and maybe post pictures or write comments again. I would love to, but I can't promise anything, because I have no idea how things are going to be once the baby is here. Maybe I won't have any time at all. But I will try to do my best !

I hope you'll like this picture - it is not of the best quality, with all the branches in front of the Squirrel, but it's best I could do on this day (the other pictures were blurred and unfocused).

Hello Valerie,
How nice to hear something from you. I can believe you got other things to think of now. I wish you all the best in the next exciting days.
Very beautiful photo in every way.
Kind regards,

Hi Val,

A few days ago I just asked Your mother how Your things are going. And voilá: You're here again! I know You can't promise any regular participation, and when the baby arrives, You'll be quite tired for long time (at least this happened to us with our sons) - but visit us when You'll have a little sparetime.

Photographically the pic's very good even with the branch in front of the squirrel. Great sharpness / focus, and good composition (strange to say, but the branch doesn't seem here as a compositional error). Maybe a very little bit overexposed though - but much better than any of my squirrel photos I've done 'til now. Congrats and tfs. About the branch: how many times I told You to use scissors! :)

Something else. I'm not sure if You follow my favorite sport at all, but I'm very glad Your countymate, a sympathic guy from Alsace, namely Thomas Vöckler won a stage on Tour de France again. He deserved it.

All the best to You, don't be afraid of the next few days. We all on TN wish Your family good luck.

Respectful and friendly regards, László

Hello Valerie, I've been away too :)
Beautiful colour in this squirrel, brought out by the foliage in front. You are lucky to have these lovely creatures. None here :)

bonjour Valerie

Hi Valerie,
A nice capture of this beautiful red squirrel. Very well composed with sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Chere amie, Valerie
You have not lost your touch and have again produced your distinctive type of photo of "being there".

The mossy green of the tree is emphasising the rusty brown of this lovely squirrel. In South Africa there are only grey ones with sort of scrawny tails.

It is a pleasure to view your portrait of this Squirrel.
Bon dimanche

Hello Valerie, another beautiful capture of squirrel , colors, moment and light perfect. Excellent picture. Regards, Paolo

Hello Valérie,

My favourite animal!
Great eye contact, and the typical curios expression is well recorded...
I assume this little fellow is busy exploring nature after the winter, possibly a juvenile as judged by the fluffy fur coat!
A really charming little fellow, captured in typical action...
