The tree
Pinus pinea, Linneae - 1753.
Among many distinctive criteria , the aspect of the bark of this tall tree catches the eye.
Gray or gray-brown in young subjects, it turns orange-brown or pinkish gray with time.
The bark of the lower trunk reveals deep grooves, forming a rhytidome black and cracked.
As shown in the photograph, the coating of the trunk is composed of very thick laminated plates: it is a scaly rhytidome relatively characteristic.
Needless to say, these plates are a den of choice for many insects that are hiding in the many crevices.
The picture
Photograph taken around midday during a sunny morning, in the woods, in August. The FinePix S602 has been setup in priority mode to the aperture. With a sensitivity equivalent to ISO-200 and an f/2.8 aperture, speed was 1 / 250 th. The choice of opening has been dictated by the low light in the undergrowth, despite the time of the year.
Post treatment to improve the gamma of the picture and to correct the sharpness. (olympus studio + corel photopaint) |

Cher Philippe!
Markus
