This owl butterfly was shot in Vannes butterfly parc.
There are around 20 different species of owl butterflies. They can be found in rainforests and secondary forests of Central and South America.
Their name comes from some large eyespots on the wings.
It was speculated that these eyespots are in function of eyes to scare or fool potential predators, especially birds and lizards.
