En: Green huntsman spider
Lat: Micrommata virescens
Fr: Araignée verte

Portrait of a female Micrommata virescens. Note the eight small eyes (All spiders have 8 eyes, even thought they can't be easily spotted by all species)
The adult males are smaller and have a yellowish abdomen with a red stripe.
They are widespread but rare.
They belongs to crab spiders even though they do not wait in ambush, but walk instead till they spot a prey.

I could spot the spider because it was running. Taking a shot was a nightmare because it wouln't stop running. When it suddently did, it all because very easy.
I like the surprising green color of this spider.
I like the support which has same color, same hair, and same black spots as the spider.

A little cropping, contrast and sharpness in Photoshop.

Hi JeanMarie

Another very beautiful macro shot from you, my friend!
The composition that you managed here is exceptional and i love the pose in which you caught him that allowed you to fill the frame so well with it.
The details are terrific and the natural colors lovely.
The dark eyes stand out great, being in such a great contrast with the tones of his body.

Bravo and TFS

bonjour JM

Saludos
José Ramón

Hello Jean Marie,
This is a really nice perspective. I like the angle you shot this beautiful green semi-transparent arachnid and how the legs flow right into the plant. Very nice. :)
