[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Crab spider - Misumena vatia - araignee crabe
Female in ambush.

Crab spiders wait in ambush. They spring on the preys when they are at a reach distance.

The plant is Erica cinerea - bruyere

In this pic, I like the orange of the spider which is the same as on the flowers, and the green of the spider which is the same as the background.

PP work:
Framing with the colors of the spider. little adjustment of contrasts.

Thanks for looking

Hi Jean Marie,

Very nice macro shot of this spider, contrasts well against the purple flower, I am not so fond of this kind of framing but thats me,

Regards

Paul

nice shot , i liked the you captured it , and a good explanation also .

Hi JeanMarie,
great picture of this crab spider.
I like the sharpness and the colours, the background is ok, too.
Maybe the outcut could be a little smaller. The flower brings a nice contrast to the flower.
The long legs of crab spiders are impressive; Also when they´re here a bit non-sharp. All in all a good shot!

Hello Jean Marie,
a sharp picture of Misumena vatia (Thomisidae) on the beautifully contrasting Erica-plant. Colours are natural and pretty good. In my opinion, the frame is too conspicious, particularly in the upper part of the picture where the spider's legs come close to the frame.
Best wishes, Peter

Hi JeanMarie,
Fabulous capture! A great composition with strong contrast betwen the spider and flower. Perfect sharpness, DOF and exposure. I like the frame you added too. Very well done!!

Jean Marie:
In most cases, the crab spiders change colour to match the flower - in this case, clearly not! This is a very nice photograph with good colour, exposure and sharpness and a natural pose - I must admit that I don't like the frame very much, but that's a small thing.
Regards, Nigel.

bonjour jean marie

pour la qualité rien a dire.

I love this macro JeanMarie for its coloring.

I like it a lot: composition, POV, DOF, sharpness, focus, color, background, lighting.

I like it: framing (I believe that with the elected frame, the framing it should have been something tall near those of legs of the spider, but that it is only a point of view), notes.

I don't like it: the lack of the values of the image.

TFS and greetings... Ricardo

Hello JeanMarie,
Your shot for this spider is beautiful. Exposure, colors, sharpness and DOF are excellent. For rules of composition perhaps more space on left-top and less on right-back...
Congratulations and TFS.

Bonjour Jean Marie, encore une belle composition avec Le Crab Spider en embuscade au milieu des fleurs. Le mimetisme ne va pas être facile!! De jolies teintes mais un cadre qui detonne un peu!! Félicitations, Didier.

Hi JeanMarie

Very nice photo of this crab-spider!
I like the way it looks on that vividly colored flower; the contrst is excellent.
Nice POV, very good sharpness and great DOF. I don't know about the frame...but that's of each of us's personal taste :)

Bravo and TFS

Hi JeanMarie,
This is an outstanding macro shot. The overall composition and framing look great. Exposure was spot on. The rich colors and sharp detail look superb. Great control on the DOF has the main scene sharp with a beautiful OOF backround. Very nice camera work here.

Bonjour JeanMarie,
Very nicely composed picture. Superb shot. Sharp and neat image. Frame is too attractive, 'competing' with the main object [spider] in atrracting viewer's attention.

Ben Lakitan

Great shot. Spider is well taken against beautiful flower. Good exposure. Nice composition anbd background.

Wow, your crab spider photo has very good technique for macro. Well done indeed!
