[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [French]
THE POLICEMAN OR SWISS (Pyrrhocoris apterus)
Many insects have no common noun, but Pyrrhocoris aptère accumulates them and even, accumulates them!
"Policeman", "Swiss", "Soldier", " red Bedbug ", "Cherche-midi", such are the vernacular names most usually used to indicate Pyrrhocore, in other words: the " bedbug in the body of fire ".
The list is not exhaustive, and these namings, more or less regional, testify of the vast distribution of the insect. They also show of his little wild character, and on one side "swank" inherent to his finery and to the fact that he lives in "colonies"{*"summer camps"*}, these last ones liking besides neighborhoods and sunny walls of our houses, including urban occasionally.
The forms " brachyptères " (= short wings), are the standard, but there are however individual macroptères forms (= in big wings), but the insect remains nevertheless unfit of the flight.

Hello Philippe, Great note on your "Policeman". It looks like you obtained good focus on the head & top of your subject. An external light source to fill in the shadows,(head's a bit dark)may be something you consider in the future. Also there is no basic camera info, seems your EXIF data didn't come through?

He buscado en internet este insecto Philippe, y he visto que en algunas oportunidades se reunen por cientos!!.
Bellos colores y perspectiva.

Yes I am agree with Howard, Its indeed a nice note you wrote. Your macro is not bad, but I think you must have more luck with the good capture. The insect is now going down, when it go's up you have had a great one. good job Phillippe

Bravo Philippe!
