Common Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)

Longevity : 29 years

It is the most widespread of wild ducks. The male is gray brown with the head dark green, yellowish beak, white collar, the chest is purplished brown, the remainder of the body black and white. The female is brown flecked with yellow, brown beak bordered of orange.
It attends many environment: ponds, lakes, marshes wooded or not, coasts, urban parts of water... It is satisfied with tiny water parts (ponds, ditches...).
It feed itself with watery seeds, roots and plants but also with worms, frogs and insects.

Hi Jean Patrick, nice POV, the colour tones are excellent and it's a very nice composition. It does look a touch soft in focus and there does seem to be a little noise in the BG. Well done.

NIce composition. well done getting the duck to look at the camera.
You could try sharpening this shot to give it a little more clarity.

Most of all I like two things in this photo - nice, 'camouflage' colours of water and duck and its pose with proud face ;-) TFS!
