English name : Apricot jelly – Scientific name : Tremiscus helvelloides - Edible : yes.
---
Description : Found across North America and Europe, but it seems to prefer cool habitats, where the humidity remains high and altitude. Thus, the fruit bodies do not wither. It fruits on moss and well rotted woody debris in conifer forests. Fruit bodies are rubbery, pink to orange (apricot color), typically 3-15cm tall and the hymenium is smooth to longitudinally wrinkled.
This strange looking mushroom is edible, with salad for example.
---
Photo : Resized and framed in 800x600 for TN. Photographied at Chinaillon 1300m altitude. I have add a pinecone for scale and I like it, I hope you too ;-)

An interesting composition Christian with excellent textures, color and light. An informative note. Well done & Thank You.

Good detail, crisp color, well taken. Would have been tempted to add just a bit more space at the base of the shot to give the pine cone more room.

This is an excellent macro shot. The colors are beautiful, and the detail is razor sharp. Excellent DOF and clarity. I like how the pine cone gives it scale. Nice Shot.

Hola CHristian: the texture and color of this type of mushrooms is something that I consider to be very difficult of capturing in my experience. The illumination and the humidity are very well administered. The composition is interesting, and to have a good result. Saludos Cordiales. *Ninfa Urania*
