[Full marks for spotting that this is an Orangutan instead of Gorilla - I changed the text below to correct my mistake]
This is one of the Orangutans in the Paris Menagerie. What caught my attention was the number of activities that the Orangutan engage in to keep amused. From things as simple as a plastic bag to more complex items such as sticky coloured bricks. Whilst I didn't witness a Orangutan building a house, car or space station, they are imaginative in how they explore items and communicate. |

Very clear capture and excellent DOF. Unfortunately I dont think it is a Gorilla, but a Oerangoetang - Maybe someone else can confirm. Very good shot
It is a lovely shot. Great detail. The blocks adds extra colour and gives it nice effect. I think I go with Japie on the ID though.
Orangutang (Pongo pygmaeus), the only thing making me a bit unsure is the colour, normally they are red-brown.
David, nice shot of this Oerang Oetang. I have shot them myself in Indonesia and am also surprised by the colour and the little hair this one has. He/she seems to be a bit bored and unthinkingly playing with these toy bricks. In some way it has a sadness to see an animal like this play with human toys.
Greetings, Jan

Well david, It's a lovely one,
Really good composition, great colours, you did a very good job here, well done.
He looks bored, and sad at the same time. I think i would be too if I was put in a cage.
