Hi Thorsten . It just shows what can be done with any lens when in the right hands. This is a first clas close up of the brigthly coloured flower and sharp hoverflies. You have used the light so well which has given a bright picture all round. Well done TFS.

Bravo for an absolutely beautiful macro with excellent sharpness and focus. A very eye-catching image with lots of great details. Thorsten,
Technically this would not be a macro but a close up. Because it has to do with the magnification ratio. Anyway, the use of this lens for a close up like this is great and the result is extreemly wonderful. I love the light and the crisp look. The top down POV is very creative and gave the photo a special feel of depth.

A magnificent closeup of these two insects enjoying the beautiful flower. Details could not be sharper. Excellent colors of the two flies - I love the wings. The blue of the flower is marvelous and that too has wonderful details. A beautiful composition.

I find that my 420 lens combination takes good macros with the advantage that one doesn't have to come close to the subject and the BG is usually good.
This fine capture of two Episyrphus balteatus on a Cicoria flower is superb with great sharpness and an excellent example of the use of a long lens for a macro.

Hi again,

really a superb result from the tele lens, we'd use no macro if we could always do this :) but there's one difference I guess: it needs more light.. but if you manage it well like you did here then life gets easier :)
