This delicate insect is one of our more common damselflies:
- Coenagrion puella
- family: Coenagrionidae

Species information
C. puella occurs in most parts of Europe except the northern ones including Scotland and most parts of Scandinavia.
Adults can be found from Mai to September.

Locality
The picture was taken at an abandoned industrial site (former coke-oven plant) in the Ruhrgebiet in Germany. In some areas plants and animals try to recover.

- slight wind only
- handheld

Hello Peter. It dose not take long for nature to move back in to a abandoned area. Working with the light you had you have done well. to get a fine close up. showing good detail and natural colours. well done TFS.

Hola Peter,
Las tomas de las libélulas siempre tienen sus problemas por la forma de su cuerpo. En este caso nos has dado una lección de encuadre de ellas, y aunque la pose la tiene complicada , has resuelto el problema.
El resto de parámetros como la luz, el fondo y el enfoque aceptables.

Hi Peter!

Really good macro of this common damselfly. It is so sharp that one can easily see every spike on legs and details on pterostigmas. Very well composed, too.

Hallo Peter,
schöne Aufnahme dieser Libelle. Es sind sehr viele Details erkennbar und die Schärfe stimmt natürlich auch. Am besten gefällt mir aber der verschwommene Hintergrund, der einen guten Kontrast zu der Libelle bietet, und farblich trotzdem zu der Libelle passt. Sehr gute Arbeit.
