Here, a specimen is shown in the evening light on its over-night resting place. Further specimens could be observed nearby in a similar position.

The species is often shown at TN and well known so that sufficient general information is available on this site.

Locality
Germany, Ruhrgebiet, an abandoned industrial site where lower plants try to recover the area.
The species has become rare in the last 50 years in our region but currently it tends to propagate.

Hello Peter,

The colors look so fine in the soft light you have used. There is a fine contrast between the blury background and the sharp image of the butterfly. Wings pattern is shown in great detail and even texture can be well seen.
