The Grey Garden Bug (Rhaphigaster nebulosa) belongs to the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae). It is sometimes referred to as gray box bug.
The Grey Garden bug reaches a length of 14 to 16 millimeters. It is dirty grayish yellow to brown in color with unevenly distributed point pits on the body top. The membrane of the forewing is mottled often dark brown. The margin of the abdomen (Connexivum) is provided with a black yellow pattern. The antennae are ringed black yellow, while the third and fifth sensor element is colored pale yellow. On the bottom is located between the hips, a long spine. The mouth parts are designed as proboscis.
The bug lives phytophag on various deciduous trees. Occasionally she also sucks on dead insects. The females glue in late spring about 40 eggs in strips or slices of plant parts. The hatching young bugs are wingless and variable in their coloration. It was not until the third nymphal stage short stub wings are recognizable. To save the young enemy bugs have scent glands on their backs, are observed in adult rats, these at the bottom of the breast. When a threat is strong smelling secretion discharged. The garden bug is not a good flier, they are at their clumsy flight loud buzzing sounds of itself.

The Grey Garden Bug is diurnal and heat-loving. Like all stink bugs, it forms only one generation per year. Hibernation takes place like in ivy-covered walls. When searching for a suitable winter hiding place (cracks or gaps) they get lost in homes.
The Grey Garden Bug is Palaearctic widespread, common in Central Europe in the south than in the north and here the only species of the genus Rhaphigaster.(Wikipedia)

Hello Siggi,
What an impressive close-up shot of this Grey Garden Bug. The detail is awesome and colors very beautiful. I really like it's unique markings which I'm sure aid it quite well for camouflage protection. Very nice work!!
