Hallo Sabine,
super getroffen die "beiden einen". Die Minimotten haben oftmals fantastische und ungewöhnliche Flügelzeichnungen. Die Vielfalt ist hier so großartig, dass sie mich immer wieder begeistern kann. Purpuralis hat eine einfache aber dennoch attraktive Zeichnung. Vielen dank für das schöne Foto.

Hallo Sabine,
huebsch sind die zwei,m die Zeichnung in den Fluegeln ist wirklich schoen. Eine super Schaerfe hast du wieder herausgeracht und die Farebn sind schoen kraeftig. Die kenn ich gar nicht sieht man mal wieder wer nicht mit Kamera rumlaeuft sieht nur die Haelfte ;-).

Another terrific macro shot from you! I really live the extensive DOF you chose here that enabled you to keep both of them is such excellent focus!
The details here are exceptional and raxor-sharp and the pose you've captured them in allows us a great angle to view both the lovely pattern on their wings and also some interesting head details.
The shot from the WS is also fantastic and it's maybe even a bit nore arthistic than this one :) (In my opinion, anyway).
Just one question: in these macro that you take, what sort of "white balance" setting do you use?

Anyway, splendid work once again!

You have stitched the two shots seamlessly, Sabine, and the impression it gives is of a single shot. I would have not known it without reading your note.
Excellent macros of this colourful moth. The texure of the wings reminds one of the rich luxury carpets from Persia.

I have these in my herb beds in summer. They have lovely colours. Mine seem to range from bright pink to red/purple. I have posted a photo of a pink one in the past. Great shot with the two. Perfect focus to get both so sharp. Nice to see two point of view as well. Lovely colours

Hello Sabine,

This is an amazing macro photograph! You really brought me into the world of these two little creatures! I'm impressed!

Composition:

Your diagonal composition is wonderful, although I'm not sure whether this kind of collages are allowed on TN! Both the moths face the center of the picture which is a great thing. The green background is excellent to isolate the subjects!

Colors:

Using complimentary colors is a great plus as they emphasize each other! Green and red are complementary colors which means the two moths stand out perfectly. The yellow spots on the moths' wings just add some chromatic diversity.

Contrast:

The excellent contrast in this composition defines the details very well. I'm impressed by the details in the wings and leaves.

Exposure:

You exposed this scene very good! The details are preserved very well in the highlights! I could count every hair on the wings if I wanted to! I think the sun was standing high in the sky as the shadows are pretty harsh and a bit underexposed. Maybe by using the (fill) flash you could have worked around this inconvenience.

Focus:

Focus was achieved with accuracy and I must say I'm amazed! I thought it was extremely difficult to obtain a deep DOF with a macro lens. As I can see here, you used a very small aperture to increase the DOF and succeeded. But according to my knowledge, at very small apertures (smaller than f/16), light diffraction is so pronounced that it will blur the whole picture. In your picture, the details are razor sharp and the DOF deeper than I thought possible. This is amazing!

An excellent work of art in an appropriate frame! Thank you for sharing!

Hallo Sabine,
eine ungewohnlich dichte und geradezu tropisch anmutende Begegnung in kräftigem Licht und herrlich satten Farben.
Sehr bewegte Posen, grossartige Tiefenschärfe.
Eine Collage? Keinerlei Nahtstellen zu erkennen. Das schlicht komponierte Workshop-Foto gefällt mir auch sehr gut. Zünsler sind eine spannende Gesellschaft, quicklebendig und ungewöhnlich farbenfroh. Bei solchen Begegnungen im Freien braucht es fürwahr kein Schmetterlingshaus.
