I know how fast they are, Sabine! Tried to shoot one some time back but it was difficult. The insect does not stop at one point for long. I have already posted one picture of it but it is not all that good.
In your collage, you present this Hummingbird Moth through quite a few sharp images. All in all, one gets a clear impression of its fast movements.

This is really great, seeing the Hummingbird Hawkmoth from different angles! Each capture is brilliant but most of all I like the view of the upperside that is not so often seen. I like the way the long proboscis is shown too.
Lovely colours too and very nicely put together!

Amazing collage compiled with so fine shots. This moth is on my wish list. I even have few shots. However, they are not for TN. They are bad. Every your shot is superb. Sehr schöne zusammensetzung, so kann man diesen hummingbirdmoth (ich kenne den deutschen Namen nicht) von allen seiten sehen. die sind sehr schwer zu photografieren weil sie immer in bewegung sind, und darum bewundere ich Sie weil jedes einzelne Bild sehr scharf ist.

L'été de tes photos emplit mes narines de ces odeurs sensuelles! J'aperçois dans le jardin, de temps à autre, de ces petits papillons colibris, quel bel insecte! J'aime beaucoup que dans chaque photo, sa "trompe" est soit enroulée, soit déroulée pour atteindre le précieux nectar. Beau montage, Sabine, merci beaucoup!

Deine Bildkomposition ist interessant und entspricht vor allem wissenscahftlichen Bedürfnissen. Die Bildsequenz ist spannend und zeigt das Insekt in verschiedenen Lagen aus verschiedenen Winkeln bei verschiedenen Tätigkeiten. Von der ästhetischen Seite betrachtet, wirkt das Ganze unruhig und überladen, die einzelnen Bilder sind z.T. mit den benachbarten verschmolzen. Ich persönlich würde in einer solchen Komposition die einzelnen Teile durch eine schmale (1-3px) weisse Umrandung voneinander trennen.

Liebe Sabine,
Du hast ja eine glückliche und ruhige Hand! Wir sind alle schon stolz, wenn wir diese schnelle Kreatur einmal scharf erwischen und du kommst mit einer Collage von sechs guten Bildern. Sehr schön aufgebaute Assemblage, gefällt mir sehr gut.
Ende Januar werde ich kurz einen Abstecher nach München machen, wo ich früher mal gearbeitet habe.

You are one of the best for macro shots here on TN.And your shots come in style and substance.Here is one more addition.The collage is a rich collection of the process of feeding adopted by the Hummingbird moth.The sharpness and PoVs used are just fine.The flash is handled with expertise and the exposure just fine.
