Hello - I'm soooo happy ...
Today we are having holiday - it's the Feast of Corpus Christi - and I'm glad that I can show you a shot of the first (and only) dragon I already saw this year.

This is a Western Club-tail / Gomphus pulchellus / Westliche Keiljungfer - female as I would say - just slipped on this day.
(Please tell me if I'm wrong, thanks)

We went outside with the big hope to see one of this specimen - but nothing. We were hiking for some hours around a nice lake with high grass without success.
A little sad we went back to the car - and suddenly ... Stephan saw a green flying object and kept the area it was landing in his mind - slowly we sneaked up to this place, always hoping, that this realy was a dragonfly and knowing this guy will see us first and perhaps fly away ...

But look, we had luck to find it - and more luck that this beautiful one remained seated.

It's always a great moment for us both to see a resting dragonfly - this one was playing with some blowball-seeds.

But the whole week now there wasn't a single chance to look for some insects - we have continuous rain for days now - also today - many time for TN ;-)

Enjoy your day

You are a wizard when it comes to macro photography, Sabine.
Congratulations on snapping your first dragonfly of the year, and, my, what a shot!
Every detail on the subject is sharp and without blemish.
Well done and thanks a lot for sharing this picture.

Impeccable and clean image once again Sabine! As usually great dept of field and tons of detail! Fantastic job, I think!

Ahhh BEF, congrats on your 1st shot of a grey smile:) for this year! Unfortunately i could not find any luck to capture new one in this year. But approx. two week later we will start a long-termed trip including Cyprus, Syria and Jordan. I am sure i'll encounter some pretty ones.
This is exceptional macro capture like your previous ones MF!
TFS and have a nice day!

Hi Sabine,

A fine capture indeed Sabine, which shows the details of this Clubtail to a perfection from a lateral viewpoint. The colours are rendered perfectly and those dandelion seeds look lovely!
TFS this nice image my friend.

Hello Sabine,
yes...you should be happy with this lively capture. The clarity is so well presented and the sharpness is so well done.
Details are superb, even the dandelions seeds are seen in full excitement.
Well done and congratulations for this pleasant capture.

Hallo Sabine

ciao Sabine!
happy to see you again "hunter" in the new season of Dragonflies..good sharpness and definition thanks sERGIO

Supongo que forzaste algo los colores verdes, pero el resultado es interesante, sobre todo por el ambiente creado. Buen enfoque y luz.
Buen fin de semana Wishnu: J. Ignasi.
