European Squirrel
(Sciurus vulgaris)

Sciurus vulgaris, also known as the Eurasian red squirrel, can be found throughout the forests of Europe and northern Asia. Over the past century S. vulgaris population densities have changed greatly.
This species has more variation in coat color than almost any other mammal in the Palearctic region. The color of these squirrels varies from light-red to black on their heads and backs. All except individuals (except the completely melanistic), have white or creamy fur on their stomachs. Like many other tree squirrels, Sciurus vulgaris has long tufts of hair on its ears and long furry tail. In most areas where they are common, such as central Europe, the pelage coloration of individuals varies from red to black, with individuals of many differently color morphs co-occurring. However, in some areas, whole populations may have almost identically colored coats.

Hello Andrea.
It looks as though this little guy didn't want to stay still for you. An interesting pose, but looks so precarious, perched on that thin dead branch.
You could remove those branches in the foreground if you wanted to using photoshop or a similar editing program. There is also a slight blue cast that you can edit out as well.

What a cute, lovely squirrel you got, I love his upright ears that it looked heard that you and also like the shining eyes. Is it because of flash? By the way the red and green mixed surface of the tree is so beautiful.
Great photo except that two brunchs. Thanks for sharing...

great capture. I have never seen this type of squirrel. I would have cleared out the two branches in the foreground.

Great pose... and the colours are great too.

I would have tried to remove or lessen the branches at the front though, also flash in eyes seems very full.

However, having said that it is still a really nice shot.

Very curious colours went out. I did not think that to do mozna night animals. Probably one the flash and end of session? One hint: I would frame more tightly.
