The Wollkopfgeier (Trigonoceps occipitalis) is belonged a vulture and to the family of the Habichtartigen (Accipitridae).
Arm rockers and belly are white. To the black-brown plumage of the back and the chest the extremely colored head contrasts.
The face is pastellrosa, it during increasing excitation is colored stronger, can become even signal red. Bill corners, bill root and wax skin as well as the beginning of the Unterschnabels are strongly palely cobalt-blue colored. This unbefiederte blue skin is enough wedge-shaped far to the rear. The bill is bright orange. The legs are bright yellow to orange colored underneath the white feather/spring trousers with very strong black claws. Size of 76 - 85 cm, weight. 2,4 to 5.3 kg. Span 230 cm .
Its circulation area hands Eritrea in Africa the north of Senegal over the Sudan until. In the south it achieves only the northern parts from South Africa to the Oranjefluss. |

Wonderful pose with great color and clarity. The reflection in the vulture's eye is a nice added touch. Well done.
