[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A sandy beach from tropical region? Not really! "Only" a peaceful, lovely place on the bank of one of lakes in southern Greece :>

I decided to choose this picture because it looks that everything comes back to normal in TN. And I'm really very happy because of that :> :> :> I also really hope that some of Friends who deleted their pictures - will come back here soon... :>


According to the picture, it presents part of Volvi Lake.

And here are basic types of lakes:

Glacial lake: with origins in a melted glacier.

Artificial: created by flooding land behind a dam, called an impoundment or reservoir

Endorheic - also called terminal or closed - has no significant outflow, either through rivers or underground diffusion.

Fjord lake: a glacially eroded valley that has been eroded below sea level.

Oxbow: formed when a wide meander from a stream or a river is cut off to form a lake.

Rift lake: forms as a result of subsidence along a geological fault in the Earth's tectonic plates.

Underground: formed under the surface of the Earth's crust, often associated with caves, aquifers, or springs.

Crater: forms in a volcanic caldera or crater after the volcano has been inactive for some time.

Seasonal: exists as a body of water during only part of the year.

Eolic: forms in a depression created by the activity of the winds.

Meteorite: formed during contact of meteorite with ground surface.

After one month' break, I came back to TN two days ago. After this long period, I see your nice landscape shot from other side of Ege [Aegean] Sea. Nicely composed under good lighting. thanks for sharing. Maybe next time I can also see you in our side. Good night my friend
PS: I read Iulian' note, after finishing mine. So, I am not alone person who not visiting TN:)

You present us a delightful landscape picture. The title suits the subject at best. It's a little dreamland that you show us. The picture with the lines of the foreground that lead the eye to the horizon is so well composed. I also appreciate your instructive notes.

Hello Radomir,
A fine view of this lake, Lake Volvi. I like the perspective and the composition with the sandy beach FG and the mountain ridge in the BG.
This lake seems to have an unusually extensive beach, suggesting that the water levels change a lot. It looks like it is used as a water supply like a reservoir.
I too am thankful that things on TN are beginning to return to normal!

Hi Radomir,
A very different sort of shot from you this time....a nicely composed landscape with some pleasant colours and textures.
Only one wee nit. I've been noticing in a few shots lately,these areas in the sky where there seems to be rows of pixels visible where darker and lighter areas merge. I think this is from shooting at certain angles towards the light.
Do you see them too?
I think it can be corrected fairly easily.
