Hallo Lou,
Pracht foto! Deze gaat hoge ogen gooien. De kleuren zijn schitterend, ook in de ondergrond en achtergrond. De scherpte is fantastisch. Vooral de plaats waarvandaan deze foto gemaakt is, is erg goed. Uit je noot begrijp ik dat je ook nog in het zwembad bent geweest. Ik dacht dat je alleen maar met je fototoestel had rongelopen :-)

Yes this looks like a species of Tabanid, or horse fly and as the eyes meet and you took this on a flower, i would say that this one is a none-blood-sucking male, the females suck blood.
Both images are well taken with excellent, colours sharpness and lighting.

Very colorful and striking picture of this green-eyed fly. Excellent visual impact produced by this special color-combination. We have also flies with big green eyes in my region, but I think that there are not of the same species. Anyway Ivan told you that only females suck blood!!
