On a path of Ikaria island, I played hide-and-seek with this shield bug... This is its best pose... But the biggest trick it played on me is to hide its ID! I couldn't find it despite many efforts... Your help is really welcome!

Yes, I agree with you Özgur and Bayram [boreocypriensis], it must be a member of the Carpocorini tribe...
And as Lou [euroblinkie] said, he has also a nice photo of a couple of this unknow species here.

Pentatomidae, Greek πέντε [pente] meaning five and τόμος [tomos] meaning section, is a family of insects that includes some of the stink bugs and shield bugs.
If disturbed, stink bugs emit a pungent liquid containing cyanide compounds with a rancid almond scent. Their antennae are 5-segmented, which gives the family its name. Their bodies are usually shield-shaped. The stink bugs have thick wing covers known as shields.

Hi Catherine.
I do know what is the better: amazing smooth and attractively coloured BG or rare bug on a thick stem. Great macro work with superb details of the insect and stem, charming colour palette of the shot and fine diagonal com[position of the image. Compliments and kind regards.

Hi MF Catherine,

Unfortunately i could not help you on id. But i think it may be Corpocoris species. You've managed to focus very nicely. The exposure, DOF/POV and composition are also wonderful.
TFS and have a nice day MF!
