|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|The purpose of our trip was to see Ophrys regis-ferdinandii which has always been on my wish list of ones to see.|
East Aegean species with distribution to islands of Rhodes, Simi, Tilos, Samos and Chios and to the opposite Turkish coasts. Easily recognizable as it has very narrow and transversally flexed median lobe, giving the flower an appearance clearly different from Ophrys speculum's. It prefers open and very dry environments and flowers on March - beginning of April.

Lovely specimen. I processed your pix a bit to bring out the beauty of the capture (used "Shadows/Highlights"and "Brightness/Contrast" adjustments, plus some "Smart Sharpening" of Photoshop.
