Crocus laevigatus is an endemic plant of Crete and Aegean islands. It is edible and very attractive to bees (see in WS). The colour of flower is variable but in Crete it is usually whitish.It is flowering in autumn after rains.

Interesting photo. The orange stigma branches inside have come out sharply. However the petals are not as sharp. May be, a wider aperture of somewhere around f4 could have brought out a sharper petal image.

Hello Nikos,
Your crocus bloom is very pretty with its bright orange stigmates and pearly white petals trimmed in deep purple. However the only part that seems to be piin sharp are the orange stigmates. I like the composition and the exposure is right on the money.
