Dear Trekkers,

Not being able to come again until 25th of December, I'd like to wish merry Christmas and Happy festive season to you all today. As in the last 3 years, I again chose an image photographed on the beautiful, sunny and snowy day of 18/12/2011. The captured polypores are exactly the same specimens of Fomitopsis pinicola (Sw.) P. Karst. as on my 2011 Christmas image, but from another point of view. Please visit the photo above for species info link.

Photo: manual exposure mode, flash. PP: slight level and color correction.

I love you all, take care, and have a nice X-mas with your loved ones.

Hi Laszlo,a very original POV for your Christmas wishes postcard.Absolutely original and very well done,it seems a big moon in this perspective watching to the sky.Great use of flash and fine details and colors. All the best to you too and your family,Luciano

Hello Laszlo,

Hope you are well. Yes, indeed a merry Christmas to you in advance and I do hope you'll enjoy it with all your heart with your loved ones. This fungi growing on the trunk of the tree on a sunny frigid day looks like a moon rising over a mound...in a way....smile. However, this is the perfect and quite a fresh angle to present the plant. Thanks a lot for sharing, take care,
warm regards/Abid

Merry Christmas

Hello Laszlo,
a quite unusual, eye-catching image. I like the way you approached your target in a creative way and how you lighted it by flash against the sky. So the pores become well visible, and the Fomitopsis looks like a giant moon shining from a blue sky. Thank you for this remarkable contribution, and for your kind Christmas greetings. All the best to you,
Peter

P.S.: Thank you for your very kind expert's comments on the Norwegian Suillus variegatus I posted a few weeks ago. Having been absent from this site for quite a while since then I apologize for my answering with delay.
