Sturnus vulgaris - E: Starlet – D: Star
Common starlet in his winter cloth. In summer he looses most of his white spots and the now black pecker is yellow. It is an opportunistic bird, very adaptable. I watched a bunch of those on iceland feeding on berries in the garden of the parliament house in Reykjavik. They can appear in big swarms and it is really a sight when you see such a swarm realizing synchronous turns. The song is a mixture of all kind of sounds including “clicks” and crunching sounds, sometimes they mimic other bird songs or even technical sounds.

Very good focus and DOF. And the eye of the bird and the feathers are so good. Congratulations Werner.

The make good tasty food, deliciously gourmee, too bad they are too small, however, the choise method of catch, the nets, is pretty barbaric , I must admit as they are killed sometimes by the thousands, however they are far from endangered anywhere.
