|These phalaropes are universally present in Iceland. Adorable little birds where the roles of the sexes is reversed. The male is the brown one and takes care of the eggs and chicks, while the female i the brightly colored. This is a male the I hear 'plop' into the water next to me while watching some grebes. Totally not shy at times they were less then 3 feet away from me|
