Le Bécasseau variable est un oiseau de petite taille, confiant et peu farouche ( 18 cm de longueur )
En été, il se reconnait facilement grâce à la tache noire située au bas de sa poitrine.
L'été, il se nourrit d'insectes dans les marécages et les landes.
Le reste du temps, il affectionne les petits vers de mollusques.

Bonjour Laurent,
A superb capture of Calidris alpina posing on a mossy rise in the grass. The POV, sharpness and colours are excellent in this fine composition.

This is a fine portrait of this small wader on its breeding grounds. The image of the bird standing on a moss hummock is exactly how it should be represented. You have done well to get so close with the 300mm lens!

This is a very elegant bird and you have captured it well. The details of the plumage is greatly displayed and seen. I like the arrangement of colours and patterns on the back feathers and the spot of black on the belly of the bird. Love the rigid pose on the hump, as if it is standing guard. Great capture of the bird in its natural surrounding. Thanks for sharing this fine image. Best regards.
