Dear Trekkers,

This is my first photo made in Ireland, showing the mycoparasitic macromycetes species Tremella mesenterica, the Golden jelly fungus. Very common all over the world, but it was great to meet it here, too, among other common species growing in early spring.

Photo: taken today, in the garden of Castle Ffrench, near Ballyvoneen, Galway County, Ireland. Exposure mode: shutter priority. PP: moderate cropping, slight level and color adjustment (although I have a laptop here and the colors aren't always the optimal on its monitor), selective sharpening after re-sizing.

I hope you'll like the 1st piece of my Irish set.

Hello László.
Are you now based in Ireland? This is beautiful specimen with bright orange colors on the fallen tree trunk. I like the shallow focus and the mossy trunk for added perspective and details.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

Hello Laszlo,
a pleasure to see your first documentation of Irish fungi! Having been absent from this site for several months, I am a bit late to discover it.
I am sure you will love that island with its humid climate that must be quite favourable for some of your favourite topics of observations and research.
With thanks, and best regards,

I hope to visit Ireland someday, this is an amazing colorful photo full of delightful textures - well done.
