Hi Trekkers,

My last mycological post was taken ages ago, so I thought it's the time now to share one again. Here you can see a species typical in roadsides and other disturbed habitats: the Orange Peel Fungus (Aleuria aurantia). Not my first upload about this species, if you're interested in the other one, please click here.

Photo: taken in the same location as my last post (please find the link about Gougane Barra Forest Park there). I saw many on the roadside, this group was one of the nicest ones. Used macro converter lens and manual exposure mode. PP: moderate cropping and slight sharpening of the fungi, after re-sizing to the TN standard.

As the fungi seemed like ears on the ground, I decided to give this title to the pic. I hope you'll like the image, thanks for your comments.

Hello Laszlo,
Hope life is good. This is absolutely fantastic and the fungus, its name and the photo are indeed marvellous and very informative. I have checked the link as well but this shot is really true to the name given to the fungus, the 'orange peel fungus'.
Thanks for sharing a beauty, take care,

best regards/Abid

Hello Laszlo,
A lovely shot of these beautiful fungi captured perfectly by your lens. The image is crystal clear and the colors rich yet natural. Your notes say they are typically found along roadsides and disturbed areas, but I don't believe I have ever come across this unique species before. I checked out your first post which is great, but I like this POV even better. The exposure is superb and composition is very eye appealing. Well done!!

Hello László

Nature is wonderful and amazing, beautiful are their red color tones

Welcome back, Laszlo!
This is an amazingly curious looking Fungus and does resemble human ear. Your picture of it is incredibly life-like. I get the impression as if I's seeing it with my own eyes.
Thanks for sharing this masterpiece.
