Hi Trekkers,
This Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea L.) was standing like a guardian at the little artificial waterfall in Castlemartyr village, without any motion at all - probably waiting for some fish to pop up. This species is full-year resident in Ireland, breeding but doesn't migrate in winter.
Photo was made at 19:40 local time, with ISO 80 (to avoid noise as much as possible), f/5.6 and 1/3 sec. in manual exposure mode. Monopod was used also. I tried with even longer shutter speed, but all those photos had to be binned. PP: level and color adjustment, noise reduction.
Thanks for looking. |

Hi Laszlo, great way to show us the grey heron in a very artistic way,the flou effect on the water falling because the long exposure is amazing,i like it! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano
Hello Laszlo,
Eye catching tone. Almost low key photography. I like such type of photography. Details (or depth) of bird could have been better. Otherwise beautiful presentation.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice weekend,
Srikumar
