Hi Trekkers,
When I first saw this flower from this PoV last May, I thought it's like an alien snail with many red tentacles with eyes at the end points, trying to hide themselves behind the leaves... so the title was immediately given, although I post the photo only now.
Coming back to Earth from the fantasy world, the plant on the pic is the semi-evergreen shrub Chilean firetree (Embothrium coccineum J. R. Forst. & G. Forst.), originating from the Valdivian temperate rainforest from Southwestern South America, which area has pretty similar climate to Ireland.
Photo was done in the Fota Arboretum, with ISO 80, f/5.6 and 1/800 sec. in manual exposure mode. PP: slight level adjustment, re-sharpening after re-sizing.
I hope you'll like this little alien. :-) |

Hi Laszlo, maybe the pic is a bit dark and oversaturated, but this is the best way to have a great effect made by these flowers with the blue sky in background,in fact reminds a bit something of alien but the underwater worlds too, useful note about the species. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
Ciao Laszlo, great macro of beautiful flower, fantastic colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
