Desription:15-35cm tall.3-8 basal leaves in a rosette spreading to near erect,strongly blotched violet.

5-20 flowers,large pale yellow,finely spotted red.

Floweing season:(March) April-May (June)

Habitat: Full sun to mid-shade on moist,slightly acidic to slightly alkaline subtrates.Garrigue,scrub,open woodland,both deciduous and coniferous more rarely damp areas in the mountains upto 1700m.

Southern Europe from Spain to Turkey and the Crimea; France, Switzerland and Austria; north Africa.

Hi Anita,

I like your photo with the orchid! I consider it is difficult to do a good photo with a white flower as it is not easy to render corectly the colortones. You did it! Also the well used DOF is keeping the flower in focus so even fine details of it can be seen.

La publication manque un peu d'éclat pour faire resplendir les couleurs et bien mettre le sujet en valeur mais la précision des détails est appréciable.
