[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have already proposed this species this year, but this photo has been very successful on facebook so I thought I would post it here too. Also because in these days there are temperatures close to 40 degrees and the meadows are all dry because it is not raining for months. It's impossible to go for butterflies with this hot ...

Class: Insecta

Order: Lepidoptera

Superfamily: Papilionoidea

Family: Nymphalidae

Genus: Issoria

Species: I. lathonia

The Queen of Spain Fritillary (Issoria lathonia) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is common in southern Europe, migrating as far north as south Scandinavia every summer. It is a very rare visitor to the British Isles. Heat-dependent, this species is found breeding on the hottest places of the foodplants of the larvae (prefers Viola tricolor and Viola arvensis). The adult is a strong flyer, and may be found anywhere but forests.
The eggs of this species are laid on the Wild Pansy ( Viola tricolor).

Luciano, though it is raining somewhat irregularly here in my part of India too, I am also a bit concerned about absence of fauna, especially insects including butterflies. There is nothing much to shoot.
This is a fantastic capture of this Fritillary from a perspective that shows a full landscape behind the subject aptly in blurry ambience because of excellent DOF. The image is rich in colours both on the flower and the butterfly.

hallo Luciano
very good sharpness and nice details
the colours and light are beautiful

ciao Luciano,
Il est absolument superbe ce papillon, bien mis en évidence sur sa fleur.

Hi Luciano,
Clear and elegant photo in your unmistakable style. Flash usage and exposure control are breathtaking, as well as the composition and the PoV themselves. Vibrant, vivid colors and great sharpness, too. Absolutely spectacular shot, and I hope once I reach this level with my new Sony. Hats off for this image, a perfect one! Bravo!
Kind regards from Ireland, László

Hello Luciano,
Beautiful BG, showing its natural habitat. Although I prefer BUTTER SMOOTH BG, but here it doesn't look bad. Good details and exposure as usual. Good work.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice week,

Hello Luciano,
Congratulation for this outstanding capture. Very sharp image and with perfect focus as usual. I like the natural colors and the low POV in which you shoot this photo. Nice details of the wings.

Hi Luciano
a Very beautiful photo! Stunning colours.
Thank you for sharing.

Bonjour Luciano,

La fleur aide au cadrage de l'insecte. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du papillon Petit Nacré. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs d el'image. Bonne journée.
