|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Very common dragonfly, easily approachable, the larvae develop in standing water or preferably with weak current, ponds, ditches, lakes, rivers, etc. |
The adults stay close to the water, flying from June to October.
The eggs are not attached to aquatic plants, but dropped in flight in the water.

Hello! That's really nice photo, great details and colors and this dragonfly is really beautiful, but I'd say that this is not Sympetrum Sanguineum, I'd rather call it Trithemis kirbyi. Sympetrum is red, but it's red color isn't that bright and Trithemis has orange color on it's wings, near the tail, and I think this one has it too.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trithemis_kirbyi Here you got other photo of such dragonfly.
Ciao Roberto. Credo trattarsi di un Crocothemis erythraea ben inserita in una gradevole composzione. Buona lucue e risultato dei colori.
