[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Back from several trips, I will start to upload pictures today.

The picture shows a chracteristic butterfly of high alpine meadows which is a strong flyer and is always busy. A visit on a flower is mostly very short, except for the moment captured on the picture. The species shown is
- Boloria pales
- family: Nymphalidae
English: Shepherd's Fritillary
German: Moor-Perlmutterfalter

Species information
B. pales occurs on the higher European mountains, such as the Alps, Pyrenees, Capathians, Tatra and Apennines. It is usually found at altitudes between 2200 and 2700m.

Locality
Peder-Valley as a branch of the Martell-Valley in the North-Italien Alps. Alpine Meadow at about 2300m.
Besides B. pales other fast flying butterflies are present at this place such as Colias palaeno.

Lieber Peter,
Du bist zurück von Deiner Italienreise mit einem feinem Bild dieser Boloraspezies, die mir noch nie begegnet ist. Sie hat doch so eine typische Flügelform, das man sie erkenne müsste. Feines Bild, in Deinem persönlichen Stil. Perfekter Fokus auf Augen und Flügeln.
Gut gemacht, wie immer. Wir freuen uns auf die nächsten Bilder.

Hallo Peter,
tolles Bild von diesem interessanten Falter. Ich habe deine deutsche Übersetzung gelesen und mir dann irgendwie gedacht, dass es wohl besser Hochmoor-Perlmutterfalter heißen sollte. Danach habe ich ein wenig in Wikipedia nachgeforscht und festgestellt, dass es tatsächlich einen Hochmoor-Perlmutterfalter gibt, dieser aber nicht Boloria pales, sondern Boloria aquilonaris heißt. Also habe ich Boloria pales eingegeben und dieser wird bei Wikipedia als Alpenmatten-Perlmutterfalter oder auch Hochalpen-Perlmutterfalter bezeichnet. Vielleicht hast du ja etwas verwechselt oder einfach eine ältere bzw. nicht offizielle Bezeichnung genommen. Wie dem auch sei, ein klasse Bild mit super Farben und einer schönen Pose auf der Blume.
