The picture shows a couple of the burnet moth
- Zygaena exulans
- family: Zygaenidae

resting on a lichen-covered rock.

Species information
- In the Alps, the species occurs between altitudes of 1900m and 3000m. In other regions, such as Scotland and Scandinavia, suitable habitats have lower elevations (150 - 1000m).
- Forewing length: about 15 mm
- Larval foodplant: preferentially Fabaceae, but also Caryophyllaceae, Scophulariaceae, Betulaceae and Saxifragaceae, for example.

Location
Peder-Valley deviating from the upper Martell-Valley, about 2500 m. Here, and also in other valleys nearby (Butzen-V., Lyfi-V, Rosim-V.) the species was rather abundant.

Una luz fantástica y unos colores fríos en combinación con los rojos de las Zygaenas que crean un ambien real y elegante. La especie es muy poco vista y por lo tanto un excepcional documento, sobre todo para los amantes de este maravilloso género de mariposas. Un buen trabajo.

A pair of fine specimens captured expertly on that lichen covered stone Peter, they still sport some camouflage characteristics in their natural surroundings in spite of those revealing reddish maculations...

Great capture of these two mating moths.
Very sharp, beautiful colors and a nice POV.
The colors of the moths fits perfectly with the colors of the background.
