Famiglia: Hesperiidae

Lunghezza ala anteriore mm. 11 - 14

Descrizione: Sverna come uovo

Maschio: Colore arancio con disegni sfumati nerastri verso il bordo esterno delle anteriori e nelle posteriori. Presente una macchia androconiale nera con una stria centrale lucente nelle anteriori.

Femmina: simile al maschio ma più grande, disegni nerastri più estesi e ali anteriori prive di androconi.

Rovescio: Anteriori di colore arancio sfumato di verdastro nella zona apicale, ove sono presenti piccoli spazi gialli. Posteriori verdastre con numerose piccoli spazi bianco-giallastri.

Distribuzione: Italia:Tutta Italia tranne la Sardegna e l’isola d’Elba.

Habitat: Luoghi erbosi dalla pianura al piano montano e cacuminale a circa 2500 metri s.l.m.

Generazioni annuali: 1 generazione all'anno con sfarfallamento degli adulti da metà luglio a settembre.

Piante nutrici: Deschampia caespitosa, Festuca sp., Poa sp., Triticum sp., Holcus sp.

A very nice specie of butterfly which I found also here in my region. Not difficult to take a shot to this tiny specie which is not shy.

No doubt, it's an impressive compositional picture. As usual perfect BG and like exposure. Very good details on skipper with natural color. Well obtained details even in shadow area too.
