Libellula quadrimaculata just flickers
The eggs, laid in the previous season even in plants or in various substrates, hatch after a month or more, usually in the spring. They have a size of about half a millimeter and are brown or gray. The larva lives in the water time to become an adult, ranging from one year to two or three years Zigotteri for Anisotteri. During this period we have 10 to 15 suits. The exoskeletons, abandoned any changes are called exuviae and their discovery is important for nature observation.
Just flicker young adults are repaired waiting to become familiar with the flight. At times, they require large trees or tall grass near the pond of origin. Dragonflies, which are cold-blooded, like the warmer periods, and the day of the year. The zigotteri already seen flying in May, during the middle of the day when the sun is high, the anisotteri in June. They live a few months and the breeding season to begin after a month of the flickering. The last of the specimens, depending on the species, are seen in autumn, but a few days a very sunny and hot, even early winter.

Ciao Sergio,
Buona domenica
