Heodes tityrus Sooty Copper, male.

Colfiorito is a small town at about 700m elevation in the Umbrian hill to the East of Foligno. Just north of the town is a small area of natural reserve, while the road south to Visso eventually atkes you into a National Park.

This butterfly was in a flowery meadow on the Visso road at 800m elevation. The camera was hand held in mid-morning sunlight.

Very colorful image of this lovely species, the lighting is special. tfs.

Hello Alan friend!
Good to hear from you again!
A shot with good POV and proper exposure. The colors are eloquents and well balanced. I see that the quality of the approach is a bit poor, I recommend using ISO 400 to 800 for you and that fabulous 18-200mm lens in these cases work perfectly !.... Greetings, Thanks for sharing!

Ciao Alan. Wonderful warm tones and colours from Colfiorito, where my dad was born!
